Introduction

This Privacy Policy and Personal Data Collection Statement ("PICS") outlines how QUEENMAKER HONG KONG and its parent entity, The Playground Hong Kong Limited ("Company", "we", "us"), collect, use, store, and protect your personal data in full compliance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) ("PDPO") of Hong Kong. This PICS should be read together with the Terms and Conditions of the Platform.

By accessing or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must cease using the Platform immediately.

 

1. Data Minimization and Phased Categories of Data Collected

1.1  General Website Users (Current Phase — Data Minimization): Adhering strictly to Data Protection Principle 1 (DPP1) of the PDPO, we limit data collection to the absolute minimum required. For general website users, we only collect and hold your Name and Email Address.

1.2  We do not currently collect phone numbers, physical residential/billing addresses, or credit card/financial transaction details from general users.

1.3  Extended Data for Merchant and Business Users: For merchants, clinics, or business operators who register a business listing on the Platform ("Merchant Users"), personal and business data collected additionally includes business/clinic name, business address, contact telephone number(s), operating/opening hours, service descriptions, pricing information (where voluntarily provided), and photographic or visual assets submitted for display on the listing.

1.4  Extended Data for Practitioner Users and Guest Contributors: For contributing medical practitioners, registered healthcare professionals, or guest bloggers, personal data additionally includes their professional credentials, medical licence registrations, business descriptions, and service scopes, solely for verifying professional standing and displaying accurate contributor profiles.

1.5  Future Phased Expansion Notice: As the Platform evolves to include transaction, direct booking, or identity-verification features, we may expand our data collection scope. Users will be presented with a supplementary PICS and we will obtain your explicit, affirmative consent before any new data collection occurs.

1.6  User Obligations: You are responsible for keeping your personal data accurate and current. You must not harvest, scrape, or publish other users' personal data from the Platform.

 

2. Purpose of Collection and Use of Anonymized Data

Your personal data will be used strictly for the following operational purposes:

·         Identity verification and user account maintenance.

·         Delivery of core directory services, reviews, and saved preferences.

·         Population and display of merchant and practitioner directory listings.

·         Aggregation of anonymous statistical metrics for platform optimization.

·         Direct marketing communications, subject to your explicit, affirmative opt-in consent.

2.1  Anonymized and Aggregated Data: The Company is entitled to de-personalize and aggregate data to create anonymous statistics and market metrics. The Company retains an unrestricted, perpetual right to use, analyze, and commercialize such Non-Personal Information for any lawful business purpose.

2.2  Sharing with Merchants and Service Providers: Where applicable, we may share limited data with Merchants and Service Providers solely to facilitate connections, bookings, communications, and dispute resolution.

 

3. Direct Marketing Policy and Opt-In Mechanics

3.1  We may occasionally use your name and email address to send promotional updates, directory insights, and news regarding beauty and wellness services.

3.2  Strict Opt-In Required: We will not use your data for direct marketing unless we have received your explicit, voluntary assent via an un-pre-ticked checkbox during registration.

3.3  Unsubscribe Rights: You may withdraw direct marketing consent at any time, free of charge, by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link in every promotional email, in compliance with the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Ordinance (Cap. 593).

 

4. Data Security, Cookies, and Third-Party Links

4.1  We implement robust administrative and technical controls to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or erasure.

4.2  Our standards include SSL encryption, complex password management policies, and restricting data access exclusively to authorized personnel on a strict need-to-know basis.

4.3  Cookies and Similar Technologies: We may use cookies and similar technologies to improve user experience, remember preferences, and analyze website performance. Cookies do not collect identifiable personal data without your consent.

4.4  Third-Party Links: The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, content, or security, and users should review the relevant third-party policies before providing any data.

 

5. Data Retention, Erasure Requests, and Legal Preservation

5.1  Your personal data will only be retained for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in Section 2, or as required by law.

5.2  Users have the absolute right to request permanent deletion of their account and personal data at any time, via account settings or by emailing info@queenmaker-hk.com.

5.3  Legal Preservation Exception: Notwithstanding any data erasure request, the Company reserves the right to retain copies of a User's personal data to the extent reasonably required and permitted under the PDPO for: (i) use in relation to any actual or potential legal disputes; (ii) compliance with statutory laws and regulatory requirements; (iii) unresolved bookings or commissions; and (iv) enforcing any agreement or protecting the safety and rights of the Company and its employees.

 

6. Data Access, Correction Rights, and Data Access Request Fee

6.1  Under the PDPO, you have the right to ascertain whether we hold your personal data, request a copy, and demand correction of any inaccurate records.

6.3  Administrative Fee for Data Access Requests: The Company reserves the right to charge a reasonable administrative fee to cover actual costs incurred when complying with any formal Data Access Request. Users will be notified of any applicable fee before the request is processed.

 

7. Corporate Reorganization and Data Transfer

7.1  In the event that the Company undergoes a corporate reorganization, merger, asset sale, or change of control, your personal data may be disclosed or transferred to the prospective third-party buyer or successor entity, who will continue to operate the services under this Privacy Policy or an updated version notified to you in advance.

 

8. Language Overriding Clause

8.1  In the event of any conflict, ambiguity, or discrepancy between the English and Chinese versions of this document, the English version shall prevail in all respects.
